Fast Track ED NP/PA Locums – High Pay, Strong Physician Support

Locum Emergency Medicine NP/PA Opportunity

Level III Emergency Department | Michigan

We are seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine NPs or PAs for multiple locum assignments in a busy Level III Emergency Department. This role primarily supports the Fast Track (VUE) area with strong physician backup available 24/7.

Open Assignments & Shift Details

Position Overview

• Patient volume: ~110/day (divided among providers)

• APP works independently in Fast Track (VUE)

  • 10-bed designated area within the ED

• Attending physicians available 24/7 for consultation

• One APP shift daily (11a–11p)

• Emergency Medicine residents on site (no APP supervision required)

Physician Coverage Model

• Single physician coverage: 2:00 AM – 8:00 AM

• Peak coverage: 3 physicians on duty from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• Staggered physician start times for optimal coverage

Department & Facility Details

• Trauma designation: Level III

• ED beds: 50

• Annual ED volume: 40,150

• EHR: Cerner

• Fast Track: Yes

• Percent of hospital admissions from ED: 60%

• Percent of ED patients admitted daily: 20%

• Deliveries: Sent directly to Labor & Delivery

Admissions & Transfers

• Admission orders entered by house officer after bed request

• Pediatric transfers to regional children’s facility

• Stroke and trauma transfers based on diagnosis and severity to regional tertiary centers

Credentialing

• Estimated timeframe: 90 days

• Board Certification required

• Michigan license required (IMLC not accepted)

Expenses & Billing

• Travel and expenses covered per client policy

• No reimbursement for medical staff fees

• No third-party lodging (Expedia, Kayak, etc.)

• Tax-exempt lodging only

• Reverse billing system (Doc Time) — clock-in/clock-out required

Immunization & Health Requirements

• Hep B, MMR, Varicella (series or titers)

• Flu (current season)

• COVID documentation

• TB (within 12 months)

• TDAP (within last 10 years)

Submission Requirements (Required at Name Clear)

• Board-Certified NP/PA

• Minimum 2 years recent ED experience

• Local providers only — no exceptions

• Clean background for expedited credentialing

• Michigan license at time of submission

• DEA (verbal confirmation acceptable)

• ACLS (AHA) & ATLS

• Availability for listed dates
