Locums | Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant | PRN | Elkader, IA Why This Role

  • PRN emergency medicine coverage with a mix of ED and inpatient responsibility
  • Low-volume environment with strong nursing and paramedic support
  • Wide range of available shifts from December through May
Assignment Details Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Setting: ED and Med/Surg Must function as sole provider with RN and paramedic support Patient Contact Hours: Variable based on selected shifts Average ER volume: 3.6 patients per day Average inpatient census: 1.4 patients Temp privileges available EMR: Epic Travel reimbursed for flights, lodging, rental car, and mileage Coverage dates available from 12/24/25 through 5/24/26 Clinical Details Inpatient responsibilities required Emergency care, inpatient care, and skilled care Two exam rooms per provider Onsite imaging, lab, and pharmacy Nursing support includes two RNs and a paramedic Additional support from CNAs and NPNs as available Requirements Board Certified Active Iowa license DEA and CSR required Experience functioning independently in an ED/inpatient mixed model Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
