📋 Description
Seeking an Emergency Medicine PA for PRN locum coverage providing both ED and inpatient hospital support in a low-volume rural care environment. Ideal for confident, independent PAs who thrive as sole on-site providers with strong support staff.
Job Responsibilities
• Act as sole provider for ED + Med/Surg units
• Manage emergency, inpatient & skilled care cases
• Provide direct patient care with RN and paramedic assistance
• Diagnose, order labs/imaging & prescribe treatment
• Utilize EPIC EMR system
• Perform general emergency procedures
Qualifications
• Board Certified PA — Required
• Active IA State License — Required
• Active DEA & CSR — Required
• Ability to work autonomously in low-volume ED settings
Working Hours
PRN shift scheduling — mix of day and night coverage
Varied 12–48 hour blocks as scheduled
Weekend & holiday coverage included
Skills
• Emergency response & critical decision-making
• Strong independent clinical judgment
• Comfortable with inpatient rounding
• Ability to multitask across ED + Med/Surg
• Competent using EPIC
