Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Emergency Medicine Location: Spearfish, South Dakota Position Type: Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Experience: 1+ year of clinical or emergency medicine experience preferred ________________________________________ Position Overview • Seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic Emergency Medicine team in Spearfish, SD • Work under the supervision of an Emergency Medicine physician while providing high-quality, patient-centered care • Responsible for managing acute and complex patients in the emergency department in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members • Must demonstrate sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced situations ________________________________________ Essential Functions • Predominantly Emergency Medicine practice (spending 20% or less time in non-emergency settings) • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of emergent and urgent care conditions • Perform and assist with procedures within the APP scope of practice and department protocols • Apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans of care as needed • Order and interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with supervising physicians • Provide timely, thorough, and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies • Coordinate care and make appropriate referrals or transfers based on patient condition • Respond effectively to emergencies, basing management decisions on individual patient needs • No operating room, inpatient, or ED/unassigned call requirements ________________________________________ Qualifications • Required (South Dakota): o Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) – South Dakota Board of Nursing o or Physician Assistant (PA) – South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners • Preferred: o 1+ year of clinical or emergency medicine experience o Strong assessment and procedural skills o Excellent communication and teamwork abilities ________________________________________ Physical Requirements • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to move objects ________________________________________ Why Join This Opportunity • Work in a collaborative and supportive emergency care environment • Participate in a fast-paced, high-acuity practice serving a diverse patient population • Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with no on-call or operating room duties • Live in Spearfish, South Dakota, a vibrant community in the Black Hills region, offering: o Scenic outdoor recreation year-round — hiking, biking, skiing, and fishing o Family-friendly living, cultural activities, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere
