A busy 44-bed Emergency Department in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Physician Assistant for ongoing locum coverage. Providers will join a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice clinicians in a supportive, high-acuity environment.
📅 Practice Details

Setting: Emergency Department (no trauma designation)

Staffing: 2 physicians always on shift | 11 physicians total in the group

Fast Track: Yes – staffed by APPs, managing ~40% of ED volume

Admissions: ~15% of ED patients admitted daily

Transfers: Rare, ~1–2 per day

EMR: Epic
⚕️ Responsibilities

Deliver full-spectrum emergency medical care alongside ED physicians

Manage patients in both main ED and fast track setting

Document accurately within Epic EMR system

Work collaboratively with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other APPs

Board-Certified PA (Emergency Medicine) – REQUIRED

Massachusetts License – REQUIRED

ACLS & BLS certifications – REQUIRED

Emergency/acute care experience – REQUIRED (no new grads)
