We’re seeking 4 dedicated Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for short-term assignments across several remote villages. These two-week assignments provide holiday coverage in clinics located in underserved communities. Location: Northwest Alaska
Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract
Date Range: December 18th, 2025 – January 4th, 2026
Compensation: Daily Rate + On-Call
4 providers total needed for multiple village locations!
Key Job Details:
- Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm & On-Call
- Compensation Breakdown:
- $930.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
- $1395.00 holiday daily rate (Christmas Day, New Year’s Day)
- $250.00 daily on-call rate (earned every day when on-call)
- 2 paid travel days (1 arrival, 1 departure), paid at the daily rate
Responsibilities:
- Patient Volume, Clinic & On-Call: Varies, depending on specific village assignment
- Staffing Mix: Some villages are a solo-provider assignment, others may have additional support
Position Requirements:
- Active Alaska State Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Board Certification
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS
- ATLS preferred, but not required
- Active DEA registration
- COVID vaccination
- Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
- Direct experience with medivac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
- Alaska bush experience highly preferred
- Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
