Practice Highlights:
Requirements:
- Initial applicants must qualify for and be granted core privileges as an NP or PA
- Clinicians must be able to demonstrate competency by completion of a minimum number of 10 needle decompressions. These 10 may be completed under proctored simulation.
- Clinicians must be able to demonstrate competency by completion of a minimum number of 20 ultrasound guided central line insertions. This may be a combination of at least 10 procedures under proctored simulation and an additional 10 procedures on patients under direct physician supervision.
- Clinicians must be able to demonstrate competency by completion of a minimum number of 20 endotracheal intubations on patients under direct physician supervision. All intubation procedures must be performed on actual patients and may not be performed under proctored simulation.
- Clinicians must be able to demonstrate competency by completion of a minimum number of 20 chest tube insertions. This may be a combination of at least 15 procedures under proctored simulation and an additional 5 procedures on patients under direct physician supervision.
