• 45 hours per day Physician coverage, 52 hours per day APP coverage

Methodist Children's Hospital (MCH) opened in 1998 as the only hospital in San Antonio and South Texas designed and built especially for children. The facility offers outstanding pediatric services in many specialty areas including pediatric heart surgery, pulmonology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, newborn and pediatric intensive care, oncology and emergency services. As one of few hospitals in the nation, MCH uses gaming and virtual technology to ease the anxieties of young patients, as well as nationally-recognized art therapy programs.

The facility was recently expanded to add a seven-story patient tower with 96 private rooms and a 94-bed, Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
