Job description
Position: Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Trauma & Acute Care Surgery
Start Date: August 2025
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off, 12-hour shifts
Shift Options: Day (6:45 AM – 5:45 PM), Swing (11:00 AM – 10:30 PM); Nights are primarily covered, but occasional coverage may be requested in advance
Location: Idaho – state license preferred; must obtain licensure within 60 days of hire
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced PA or NP to join our high-acuity Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in managing trauma patients and emergency general surgery in Level I or II trauma centers.
What You’ll Do:

Work as an integral member of a team that manages:
• Trauma cases
• 100% emergency general surgery (unassigned ED cases)
• Patients in the trauma/surgical ICU -
Provide OR first-assist support (NPs must be comfortable functioning in this role; First Assist certification not required)

Collaborate closely with attending surgeons, residents, and fellow advanced practice providers

Deliver high-quality, timely, and compassionate care in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a Level I or II trauma center

Prior exposure to trauma, emergency general surgery, and preferably ICU experience

Flexibility to occasionally support night coverage if needed

Licensed in Idaho or eligible for licensure within 60 days
