Job description Physician Assistant – Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (Full-Time Nocturnist) Location: Loveland, Colorado Setting: High-acuity medical center Shift: 12-hour overnights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Team Size: 3 Providers Role Type: Permanent, full-time (not locums; not locums-to-perm) Visa Sponsorship: Not available (No J-1 / H-1B) Quick-Screen Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years trauma surgery experience
    • or completion of a surgical fellowship
    • Not accepting new graduates
  • Autonomous practice capability: Required
  • Licensure: Active/eligible Colorado PA license (implied—confirm if needed)
  • EMR: Epic proficiency required
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide full-spectrum trauma and emergency general surgery care during overnight shifts
  • Manage:
    • Trauma admissions
    • Emergency general surgical patients
    • Inpatient care
  • Perform:
    • Comprehensive evaluations
    • Care plan development
    • Diagnostics interpretation
    • Resuscitation support
    • Operative support with trauma surgeons
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma and acute care teams
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic
  • Support service quality, safety, and performance initiatives
  • Participate in professional development and potential leadership opportunities
Additional Notes
  • This is a permanent nocturnist role, not available for locums coverage
  • No locums-to-perm pathway
  • Candidates must be able to manage high-acuity trauma independently
