Position: Peds CVICU NP/PA
Location: Palo Alto, CA

MPLT Healthcare is looking for NP/PAs who Understand the Urgency, Never Give Up, and Have the Courage to Excel in the forever changing medical industry! We have numerous opportunities for an experienced Peds CVICU NP/PA with highly competitive pay rates in Palo Alto, CA.

Position Details:

  • Coverage Dates (Long-term only): January start, minimum 6 months assignment and looking for long term. Looking for 3 FT providers
  • Shift Schedule: days and weekends to begin; 10 shifts 6:30a-4:30p – need 4 shifts per week / 16 shifts per month. no call
  • Patients per Day/Volume: provider to patient ratio is 1:3-5 in CVICU, weekends are up to 6-7 patients per provider. Step down unit is 5-6 patients per provider during the week, and as many as 10 patients on the weekend.
  • Certifications/Qualifications required: Must be Board Certified. NP required RN and NP recognition, prefer PNP or acute care, but would accept PC with appropriate experience; Highly prefer previous cardiac ICU nursing and APP experience, or 2-3 year of experience in cardiac ICU. Will consider bedside nurse in CICU for at least 3 years and NP in any critical setting experience. PAs must have Ped Cardiac experience with ICU experience.
  • NPs need CA furnishing license up to schedule 2, and PAs need DEA.
  • Miscellaneous Information: Good candidates may receive a perm offer after working. No procedures are required, but qualified candidates could see arterial lines, intubations, central lines and pulling chest tubes – but site has plenty of people for those procedures so it’s not a requirement. Locums will work with attending physicians, and they have PICU and Cardiology fellows as well as a few Hospitalists.
