Locum Tenens NeuroCritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in NeuroCritical Care in Boston, Massachusetts. Join a specialized multidisciplinary team caring for complex neurology and neurosurgery patients in a high-acuity Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit.

Schedule

• Approximately 3–4 12-hour shifts per week
• Approximately 40 hours per week
• Rotating day, night, and weekend coverage
• Locum tenens assignment with potential for ongoing coverage

Compensation: $120.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive care as part of a multidisciplinary NeuroCritical Care team.
• Participate in daily rounds with attending physicians, fellows, residents, and APPs.
• Perform patient histories and comprehensive neurological examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and coordinate specialty consultations.
• Communicate treatment plans and provide education to patients and families.
• Perform inpatient consultations and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Perform procedures appropriate to training and credentialing, including:
• Central and arterial line placement
• Intubation
• Lumbar puncture
• Lumbar drain placement and removal
• NGT placement
• Staple and suture placement/removal
• Wound care and packing
• Spine brace and cervical collar placement/removal

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts NP or PA license.
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current national certification appropriate to the provider's discipline.
• NeuroCritical Care, critical care, neurology, or neurosurgery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work rotating days, nights, and weekends.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
