We are currently looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our critical care intensivists at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia.

  • Outstanding opportunity to join our tight-knit critical care team and work alongside our 11 intensivists, 3 advanced practitioners, respiratory therapists, a multitude of medical/surgical consultants, and tenured support staff to ensure 24/7 comprehensive management of our patients.
    • Incoming provider will always have physician support and supervision.
  • Collaborative, academic environment: We frequently work with rotating Georgetown critical care fellows.
  • Our critical care team is based in a mixed medical/surgical ICU with medical, surgical, cardiology, neurology, and trauma units.
    • Our team handles a wide breadth of critical illnesses from respiratory failure and loss of blood pressure to multiorgan failure and neurosurgical catastrophes.
  • Full-time schedule including approximately fourteen 12-hour shifts per month.
    • Roughly 4 night shifts and 1 weekend shift per month.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Virginia state license, or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience: 1-2 years critical care, trauma, or hospitalist medicine experience required.
    • New graduates may apply upon completion of a critical care fellowship program.
  • Must love building relationships with patients, value bedside manner, and possess excellent clinical skills
  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations
