Inpatient Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
Location: Rochester, Minnesota

Position Overview
This inpatient cardiology APP role focuses on the evaluation and management of acutely ill adult patients in a progressive care hospital setting. The position requires timely clinical assessment, intervention, and collaboration across multiple cardiology service lines in a high-acuity environment with 24/7 APP coverage.
Position Highlights
* Inpatient cardiology practice with PCU-level acuity
* Exposure to multiple cardiology subspecialties
* 24/7 APP staffing model with shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends
* Collaborative, team-based practice with cardiology fellows and consultants

Clinical Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive assessments of acutely ill adult patients
* Manage urgent and emergent cardiology conditions
* Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic testing
* Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments
* Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions
* Provide patient and family education on disease process, hospitalization, and follow-up care
* Collaborate with cardiology fellows, consultants, APP colleagues, nursing staff, and clinical assistants

Qualifications
* DEA registration required
* Additional certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or ATLS may be required depending on role
Nurse Practitioner
* Master’s-prepared graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Current Minnesota RN license
* Certification as one of the following:
* Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
* Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP or ACNPC-AG)
* Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
* Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* Current NCCPA certification
* Registration with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Experience
* Prior inpatient experience preferred
* New graduates considered with completion of inpatient clinical rotations
