Job description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This role is primarily focused in the Operating Room, supporting complex cardiac surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and other thoracic interventions. Primary responsibilities of the job focus on 1st and 2nd assist, conduit harvesting, and endoscopic techniques.
The Physician Assistant (PA) functions in a surgical support role to the physician in the provision of operative care, and works under the direction, supervision and responsibility of a physician.

Status: Full-time
Shift: 4-10 Hour Days (on-call shift requirement)
Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Job Responsibilities
Operating room experience as a PA required.
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in cardiac surgery preferred; new graduates with strong surgical rotations will be considered.
Serve as first and second assist in the chest during cardiothoracic surgeries, including assisting with open and closing chest incisions for adult cardiac patients.
Experience with conduit vein harvesting and radial arteries, including endoscopic techniques highly desirable.
Suturing and caring for wounds including removing sutures and dips and changing dressings.
Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled.
Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental growth.
Strong clinical judgment, manual dexterity, and ability to perform under pressure.
Qualifications
NJ PA license; NCCPA certification required
Active CDS & DEA registration
Active BLS & ACLS certification
