Shift/Schedule: Weekend Option

Description

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Advanced Heart Failure team in Atlanta. This is a full-time position working Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This person will rotate in-patient and out-patient management of patients with heart failure, LVAD and heart transplant.

  • The Samsky Advanced Heart Failure Center is one of the top 10 national LVAD (left ventricular assist device) implanting center, helping end-stage heart failure patients maintain or improve organ function.
  • Piedmont Heart Institute has one of two heart transplant programs in Georgia.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting.
  • Independently manage patients with heart failure in the Samsky Advanced Heart Failure Center.
  • Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered.
  • Work alongside Physicians and other Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers in a collaborative team.
  • This position will largely function on an independent basis; ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification

Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification.

Experience:

3-5 years of acute care cardiology experience with strong Advanced Heart Failure skillsets (transplant, LVAD care experience) preferred.
