Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery PA | Spokane, WA (WA or IMLC) Why This Role

  • Temporary/expedited privileges available for clean history
  • OR + ICU cardiothoracic surgery coverage
  • High-acuity surgical and first-assist scope
  • Established 4-surgeon, 4-PA team
  • Locums-to-perm potential
Assignment Details Start/end: January 11, 2027; ongoing with scheduled coverage blocks through June Schedule: 7am-5pm clinical coverage; weekday call 5pm-7am Call: Beeper call with 30-minute response; every third weekday; weekend rotation to be confirmed Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours + call Volume: Variable Setting: Inpatient OR and ICU with possible stepdown coverage; Level III trauma center; stroke certified Support: 4 surgeons and 4-PA practice; 1 RN, 1 MA and office staff EMR: Epic Credentialing: 60-90 days; expedited privileges available for clean history Clinical Details Required scope: Morning rounds, daily progress notes, admissions, consults, H&Ps, discharges, medication management, labs/studies, postoperative orders and chest tube management/removal Required surgical scope: First assist in cardiothoracic procedures; endoscopic vein and radial harvesting using Maquet Hemopro 2/Vasoview; conduit preparation; sternotomy closure per surgeon preference Surgical cases include CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, thoracotomy/VATS, LVAD implantation, aortic dissection repair, ECMO and robotic thoracic surgery No outpatient clinic; primarily OR and ICU with possible stepdown coverage Weekend call includes rounding, progress notes, chest tube management, discharges, CCU calls and return to hospital for emergency cases Requirements Board certified or board eligible PA Cardiothoracic surgery experience with first-assist and endoscopic vein/radial harvesting capability License: WA or IMLC BLS Active DEA Compensation Rate negotiable, open to your number Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed
