### Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery PA | Spokane, WA (active WA PA license required) ### Why This Role

  • Six defined coverage blocks through June 2027
  • Full-spectrum cardiothoracic surgery and ICU responsibilities
  • First-assist and endoscopic harvesting experience required
  • Established four-surgeon, four-PA practice
  • Temporary privileges available for clean files ###
Assignment Details Required coverage blocks: - January 11–February 1, 2027 - February 8–March 1, 2027 - March 8–29, 2027 - April 5–30, 2027 - May 10–31, 2027 - June 7–30, 2027 Provider must cover all listed shifts Assignment is listed as ongoing, but dates beyond June 30 have not been provided Clinical hours: 7am–5pm Weeknight call: 5pm–7am Weekend call: Friday at 5pm–Monday at 7am Weekday call rotation: Approximately 1:3 Exact weekend rotation requires confirmation Setting: OR, ICU, and possible step-down coverage Inpatient rounding, discharges, consults, and admissions Postoperative clinic responsibilities may also be included EMR: Epic Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days Temporary privileges: Available for clean files Multiple providers considered ### Requirements Board-certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant Active Washington PA license Current BLS certification Cardiothoracic surgery experience Proficiency as an OR first assist Endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting experience Ability to cover every listed assignment block ### Clinical Details Morning rounds and daily progress notes History and physical examinations Medication management, laboratory orders, and diagnostic studies Consultations, discharge planning, and discharge summaries Chest-tube management and removal First assist for all cardiothoracic procedures Endoscopic vein and radial harvesting using the Maquet Hemopro 2/Vasoview system Conduit preparation and postoperative orders Sternotomy closure based on surgeon preference Procedures include: - CABG - Aortic valve replacement and TAVR - Mitral valve repair and replacement - Robotic lobectomy and thymectomy - Thoracotomy and VATS - LVAD implantation - Aortic dissection repair - ECMO
