VMFH is fulfilling our vision of transforming healthcare by expanding our team. We have an opportunity for a .85 FTE (31 patient contact hours/week). Advanced Practice Provider at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Center for Cardiovascular Health; Our heart specialists are recognized nationally in the treatment of cardiovascular care. We provide comprehensive cardiovascular care provided by a team of cardiologists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, nutritionists, dieticians, pharmacists, and therapists... among other specialists.
  • Position Details: Remote nocturnal call for our cardiology services. In this role, you will be responsible for taking first call from the ER's, Hospitalists and consultative services. Using remote EMR (EPIC), you will provide cardiology care over the phone.
  • Team based approach: You will be part of a 3 person rotation. Our team focuses on providing appropriate, compassionate, and state-of-the art medical care for our patients. Our clinicians comprise a dedicated and collaborative team that support each other and work together to create a positive work environment.
  • Schedule: 12-hr shifts from 7pm to 7am. There will be back-up cardiologists available to assist you at all times. 23 weeks/year

Job Requirements

Nurse Practitioner

  • 3+ years advanced practice experience highly preferred
  • Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.

Physician Assistant-Certified

  • 3+ years advanced practice experience highly preferred
  • This position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.
