**PA/NP - Total Joint, Adult Reconstruction opening in Northern Arizona** **Seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a collaborative role with surgeons, providing orthopedic care. The position includes outpatient clinic duties, operating room responsibilities, and rotating call schedules.** **Essential Functions:** - Assess patient health status, compliance with care plans, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. - Provide acute and chronic patient care, including history-taking, physicals, monitoring therapies, administering injections and medications, and suturing wounds. - Triage patient calls, evaluate patient problems, and respond to emergencies, including CPR. - Document patient information and care in records, maintaining confidentiality. - Educate patients and families, ensuring continuity of care. - Assist physicians in surgeries in the operating room. - Participate in hospital rounds and respond to patient calls after hours and on weekends. - Consult with other staff as necessary. **Requirements:** - Education: BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of an AMA-accredited physician assistant program (PA). For Nurse Practitioner (NP), current Arizona license for Registered Nurse, current Arizona license for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, certification by a national certifying body, and completion of an RN First Assist education program. **Experience:** - Experience preferred. Willing to train a new graduate. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols, medication administration, and delivering physical care following treatment plans. - Ability to gather and analyze physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data. - Skill in evaluating patient problems and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral. - Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner. - Ability to develop health education programs and collaborate with the healthcare team. **About the Area:** Located in Northern Arizona, the area offers a blend of natural beauty and outdoor activities.
