**Physician Assistant - Orthopaedics opening in Flagstaff, AZ** **Seeking a Physician Assistant for a hybrid role covering general orthopedic clinic duties and operating room responsibilities. The role involves assessing patient health, providing acute and chronic care, assisting in surgeries, and participating in hospital rounds.** **Essential Functions:** - Assess patient health status, compliance with care plans, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. - Provide acute and chronic patient care, including history-taking, physicals, monitoring therapies, administering injections and medications, and suturing wounds. - Triage patient calls, evaluate patient problems, and respond to emergencies, including CPR. - Document patient information and care in records, maintaining confidentiality. - Educate patients and families, ensuring continuity of care. - Assist physicians in surgeries in the operating room. - Participate in hospital rounds and respond to patient calls after hours and on weekends. - Consult with other staff as necessary. **Requirements:** - Education: BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of an AMA-accredited physician assistant program. - Experience: Experience in orthopedics is required. - License/Certification: Current state PA license, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, current CPR certification. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols, medication administration, and delivering physical care following treatment plans. - Ability to gather and analyze physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data. - Skill in evaluating patient problems and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral. - Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner. - Ability to develop health education programs and collaborate with the healthcare team. **About the Area:** Located in Northern Arizona, the area offers a blend of natural beauty and outdoor activities.
