**PA/NP - Neurosurgery opening in Phoenix, AZ** **Responsibilities:** - Perform new consults, post-operative visits, and non-operative follow-up visits, including histories, physicals, and monitoring therapies. - Participate in hospital rounds with attending surgeons, managing patient care collaboratively. - Triage patients through emergency room, trauma bay, and transfer services. - Coordinate patient care with different service lines and communicate effectively. - Educate patients and families, ensuring appropriate home instructions and follow-up. - Complete necessary documentation and patient discharges. - Perform bedside procedures and serve as a first assist to physicians in the operating room. - Maintain patient confidentiality. **Education:** - Masters degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited program (Nurse Practitioner). - Masters degree from an accredited physician assistant program (Physician Assistant). **Requirements:** *Physician Assistant:* - Current Arizona physician assistant license by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. - Willing to train new graduates. *Nurse Practitioner:* - Current Arizona license for Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. - Certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Arizona APRN Board. - Willing to train new graduates. - NP requirement to act as a first assist in the OR includes completion of a program covering AORN Standards for RN First Assist education programs. *Note: NP working as RNFA in Arizona prior to 1/1/16 can continue without completion of a program.* **About the Organization:** Responsible for providing medical care as delegated by the physician, this position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in surgical services, with a focus on comprehensive patient care and professional development.
