Radiation Oncology (NP/PA) opening in Astoria, OR Full time, permanent Days Relocation 2 years experience required NP or PA Hospital is seeking an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join Radiation Oncology clinic at Hospital in Astoria, Oregon. Function/Duties of Position Deliver patient care services under physician supervision in the Radiation Oncology Clinic: Takes patient histories and performs physical examinations. Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients. Performs daily patient rounds. Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care. Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts. Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions. Evaluates outpatient Radiation Oncology patients for treatment, contributes to the treatment plan, manages the care of patients undergoing radiation therapy, and provide post-therapy follow up care as applicable. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, comprehensive patient education, and psychosocial support of the patient and family experiencing cancer. Acts as a resource to Physicist, Radiation Therapists, Registered Nurse, and Medical Assistant Required Qualifications Nurse Practitioner: Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse license, current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon, State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges, Recommend membership in professional nursing organization. Recommended oncology certification required within one year after hire. Physician Assistant: Valid State of Oregon Physician Assistant license, current Physician Assistant license for State of Oregon, State of Oregon Licensure under CMH MD, Recommend membership in professional organization. BLS certification required. Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience, preferably in oncology.
