Job description
We are seeking a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Addiction Medicine in Brattleboro, VT.
Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. In-person stay in the unit/hospital during the shift.
Start Date: December 2026 and onwards
End Date: Ongoing
Position Details:
Daytime hospitalist APP staffing need. 100% in-hospital admissions with an average of 8–10 patients per day. Observation/inpatient floor and intermediate-level care.
Credentialing timeframe is 60–90 days, pending timely Vermont state licensure. Temporary privileges are available.
Patient Population: 100% adult inpatient/observation population
Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-Based
Responsibilities: Respond to codes and rapid responses, manage step-down level patients, stabilize critically ill patients, and arrange transport to a tertiary care level when necessary.
Required Procedures: Ventilator management experience preferred; management of step-down and intermediate-level patients.
EMR System: Cerner Community Works with AI scribe support
Support Staff: Friendly and supportive nursing staff, ED team, surgeons, strong case management team, and overnight hospitalist MD team.
On-Call/Weekends: No call; no weekend requirement.
Requirements:
- Acute Care APRN and all required Nurse Practitioner certifications
- Vermont license or willingness to obtain
- 2–3 years of hospitalist work preferred, with inpatient/adult medicine hospitalist experience
- Board Certified; DEA, BLS, ACLS
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues; NPDB within 30 days
