A Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their Wound Care & Ostomy clinic. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient care responsibilities, working closely with colorectal and urology surgeons to provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care.
Job Responsibilities
📝 Develop and implement individualized care plans for wound healing and complication management
👨👩👧👦 Educate patients and families on ostomy care, life adaptations, and follow-up care
🤝 Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care
🧪 Utilize evidence-based wound care techniques to promote healing and prevent infection
📋 Maintain accurate documentation following hospital and regulatory standards
Qualifications
🏥 Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification (WOCN) – Required, no exceptions
📜 Active New York State NP license (or willingness to obtain)
💊 DEA certification (or willingness to obtain)
🩺 Minimum 1 year NP experience preferred, especially in wound care and ostomy management (new grads 2025 considered)
💬 Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
🚫 Not accepting locum candidates; local candidates within 30 miles prioritized
Working Hours
📅 Start: ASAP
⏰ Shift: Monday – Friday, Days (8 AM – 3 PM)
