Job Responsibilities

We are currently looking for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Associates for our Gastroenterology AND for our Urology Departments. Ideal candidates will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. These positions require high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients and co-workers.

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals in the Gastroenterology and Urology clinics and hospital setting. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. The positions require high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

PRACTICE SPECIFICS:
Candidates would be joining busy, established, complex teams.

Will work primarily with one Provider, however cross-coverage may also occur
May support Providers in the operating room as Surgical Assist
Provides pre-op and post-op patient education
Coordinates diagnostic studies, consultations, procedures, and communications
Manages post-op care of patients including daily rounds, discharge, patient/family education, and follow up clinic visits
Will support entire department team

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements):

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited program. Experience working with a surgical clinical team is preferred.

Applicants with experience in Gastroenterology and/or Urology will be highly considered.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate in Hawaii. Current certification in CPR or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Successful completion of Ali`i Health Center credentialing process prior to practice. Applicants who are eligible for state licensure will be considered.

Qualifications

NP:
Current Hawaii licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Current Hawaii licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current certification in CPR.
National certification in applicable area.
Successful completion of Ali`i Health Center credentialing process prior to practice

PA:
Current Hawaii licensure as a Physician Associate.
Current certification in CPR.
National certification.
Successful completion of Ali`i Health Center credentialing process prior to practice
