Locum Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Urgent Care in Richmond, VA

Quick Facts

- Duration: Ongoing, until perm hire or as needed
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 12+ hour shifts, 3 days/week
- Hours/Week: Approximately 36 hours
- Employment Type: Locum
- Licensure/Certifications: Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in VA required; ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred or willing to obtain
- Experience: Prior urgent care or outpatient experience preferred but not mandatory
- Hourly Rate: $100.50/hour

- Provide urgent care services to a diverse patient population from birth to death
- Perform procedures including suturing, I&D, foreign body removal, burn management, and splinting
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations: EKG interpretation, point-of-care testing, X-ray review
- Manage epistaxis with nasal packing or cautery and remove cerumen impactions
- Support airway management including nebulizer treatments and emergency stabilization
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient care
Required:
- VA licensure (or willing to obtain) for NP or PA
- Minimum of 1 year outpatient/urgent care experience preferred
- Proficiency in minor procedures, diagnostics, and patient management
Preferred: - Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient environment
