NP/PA - Urgent Care

Job Details:

• Provide urgent care coverage across multiple clinic locations in the Richmond, VA area
  
• Clinics are open 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with 12-hour shifts depending on patient flow
  
• 3 shifts per week required with an expectation to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation
  
• Patient population ranges from birth to death and varies by clinic location and day
  
• Average patient volume ranges from 25 to 50 patients per day, with higher volumes approaching cold and flu season
  
• 100% outpatient practice setting
  
• Higher acuity cases will be referred to the emergency department for higher level of care
  
• Required procedures and skills include laceration repair (simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling), incision and drainage including packing, foreign body removal, minor burn management, and skin lesion care
  
• Orthopedic injury stabilization, splinting, casting, and joint reduction required
  
• Diagnostic and point-of-care testing including X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, and point-of-care lab interpretation required
  
• Additional required skills include epistaxis management, cerumen impaction removal, and airway support including nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
  
• EMR system used is Epic
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
  
• Active BLS, DEA, Board Certification, and Virginia state license required
  
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
