REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Laceration repair (simple, intermediate, complex suturing or stapling)
• Incision and drainage with packing
• Foreign body removal
• Minor burn management and skin lesion care
• Orthopedic stabilization, splinting, casting, joint reduction
• Diagnostic & point-of-care testing interpretation (X-ray, EKG, rapid labs)
• Epistaxis management (anterior packing, chemical cautery)
• Cerumen impaction removal
• Airway support (nebulizer treatments, initial emergency stabilization)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: Board Certified (required)
• Licenses: Active VA License (required)
• DEA: Active DEA Certification (required)
• Certifications: BLS, Board Certified (required)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting
• Other Qualifications: Clean background/no malpractice or license issues; inclusive rates or local candidates only; must report prior BSMH experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform laceration repair (simple, intermediate, complex suturing or stapling)
• Manage incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and minor burn care
• Provide orthopedic stabilization including splinting, casting, and joint reduction
• Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and point-of-care laboratory results
• Handle epistaxis management, cerumen impaction removal, and airway support treatments
