Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Opportunity in Northern Wisconsin

Marshfield Medical Center – Minocqua is seeking an Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Minocqua, Wisconsin. The NP is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Required Education: For Nurse Practitioners - completion of a masters, postmasters, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

For Physician Assistants - successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

EXPERIENCE

Preferred/Optional: Two years’ nursing experience

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Minimum Required

• Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant
• Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
• Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
