Marshfield Medical Center is seeking an Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS



EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.



Required Education: For Nurse Practitioners - completion of a masters, postmasters, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

For Physician Assistants - successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Successful completion of the national certifying examination and current certification given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.



EXPERIENCE



Preferred/Optional: Two years’ nursing experience



CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.



Minimum Required

  • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.



Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
