Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunity in Northern Iowa

Join a growing rural health system investing heavily in modern outpatient infrastructure and long-term community care. This full-time Urgent Care role allows you to practice independently while being backed by strong hospital resources and specialty access.


Practice Overview

  • Join a team of 3 APPs supported by 2 CMAs per shift and full front-office staff
  • Newly remodeled urgent care facility located directly across from the main hospital
  • Easy access to CT, MRI, X-ray, lab, pharmacy, and specialty referrals (ENT, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, and more)
  • Manage adult and pediatric urgent care cases with strong subspecialty backup when needed


Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm) for 12 shifts per month (144 hours)
  • 1 weekend per month (included within the 12 total monthly shifts)
  • 2 APPs scheduled during peak daytime hours; 1 APP during non-peak hours
  • No call responsibilities


Compensation & Benefits

  • $150,000 base salary plus wRVU bonus model with total earnings reaching $200,000
  • Experienced candidates may be eligible for a higher base salary
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (negotiable)
  • IPERS pension plan (9.44% employer contribution), pays you for the rest of your life!
  • 403(b), CME allowance, federal loan repayment eligibility, malpractice with tail


Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 1 year of urgent care or high-volume primary care experience preferred
  • Comfortable managing both adult and pediatric urgent care cases independently
  • Eligible for Iowa licensure
