Job description We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in Oregon. This opportunity begins on Jan 19, 2026, and features 10-hour day shifts, four days per week with a rotating schedule across multiple urgent care clinics. The ideal candidate is experienced in high-volume urgent care, emergency, or primary care settings, skilled in procedures such as suturing and wound management, and comfortable treating diverse patient populations of all ages.

  • Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (9am–7pm), rotating between urgent care clinics with no set weekly schedule

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions
  • Perform procedures including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics such as labs, X-rays, and EKGs
  • Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans
  • Partner with physicians and hospital staff for patient escalation, transfers, or referrals as needed
  • Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate utilization of urgent care versus emergency services
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (Meditech EHR) and ensure compliance with protocols and state regulations

Additional Information
  • Must hold a valid Oregon nurse practitioner license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Previous experience with urgent care procedures and independent diagnostic interpretation strongly preferred
  • Strong adaptability and communication skills essential for a community-based care setting
