Locum Tenens Urgent Care NP/PA – Portland Metro, Oregon
Locations: Tigard (TI), NE Portland (NE), Oregon City (OC)
Pay Rate: $80–$90 per hour
We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to provide locum tenens coverage for a fast-paced urgent care and occupational medicine practice across multiple clinics in the Portland metro area. Assignments are available at the Tigard, NE Portland, and Oregon City locations.
This role involves a mix of urgent care and occupational medicine services, including work-related assessments, minor injury care, routine urgent care needs, and occasional DOT physicals (DOT certification preferred but not required). Providers work independently with strong MA and front-desk support at each clinic.

Setting: Outpatient Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine

Schedule:

Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (11-hour shifts)

Weekends: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (9-hour shifts)

Shifts per Week: Capped at 3–4 shifts/week to prevent provider fatigue
-
Coverage Duration: Minimum of 5 shifts plus a 4–8 hour paid training shift

Visit Length: 15-minute visits

Patient Volume: Average 3–4 patients per hour (varies by clinic)

Patients: Primarily adults; mix of scheduled and walk-ins

Staffing Model: Solo NP/PA provider on site with MA and front-desk support

EMR: Experity (training provided)

Certifications: Board-certified NP or PA, active state license; DOT certification ideal

Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years (5+ years strongly preferred)
Clinical Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care for urgent medical needs

Perform occupational health services (drug screens, injury evaluations, DOT physicals, etc.)

Independently manage patient flow in a solo-provider setting

Document visits in Experity EMR
-
Coordinate follow-up or referrals as needed
