Position Overview
A well-established walk in Urgent Care clinic in Western Illinois is seeking a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner to join its team. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, a collaborative environment, and the chance to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, supportive setting.
Schedule

Shifts: 6a–6p or 10a–10p (typically 4 consecutive shifts)

Collaborative practice model with physicians and other NPs
-
NPs may work independently for short periods (typically 9p–10p)

Walk-in clinic averaging 60–70 patients per day, shared among 3 providers

Streamlined workflow: Take the next patient in line
Clinical Scope
Typical urgent care presentations include:

Minor orthopedic injuries, x-rays, splinting, suturing
-
Foreign body removal (eye, skin)
-
Respiratory illnesses (cough, sore throat, flu)
-
Dermatologic complaints (rashes, minor infections)
-
Urinary tract infections, STD testing, pelvic exams
Procedural skills required: Splinting and suturing
Requirements

Active Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois (or ability to obtain before start)

Certifications: ATLS and PALS required

Minimum of 1–2 years of Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience preferred

Ability to practice independently within state guidelines
