About the Role

Join a mission-driven team serving Navajo Nation communities across Northern New Mexico. We’re seeking a culturally humble, autonomous Nurse Practitioner to provide urgent and primary care in both fast-track ER and outpatient settings. You’ll work alongside dedicated physicians and clinical leaders to deliver high-impact care where it’s needed most.

Facility

  • Location-, Thoreau & Pueblo Pintado Clinics Crownpoint, AZ- located in northwestern New Mexico within the Navajo Nation.
  • 20 bed hospital
  • Annual ER volume is 14,643
  • Annual Outpatient volume is 129, 239
  • Start October 1, 2025- September 30, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Provide same-day and urgent care for patients of all ages
  • Manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) and medication refills
  • Perform procedures: laceration repair, splinting, I&D, toenail removal
  • Enter referrals and documentation in RPMS/EHR per IHS protocols
  • Participate in daily ER huddles and surge response plans
  • Support COVID testing and vaccination efforts as needed
  • Maintain timely, complete charting (within 72 hours of encounter)

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted NP license (any U.S. state)
  • Board-certified (AANP or ANCC)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or willingness to obtain)
  • DEA license required
  • Experience in urgent care, ER, or rural primary care preferred
  • Familiarity with RPMS/EHR and culturally responsive care

Additional Details

  • No on-call or callback hours required
  • Housing is covered /$100 daily stipend for travel expenses.
  • Must complete federal background check and onboarding
  • Liability insurance required ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate)
  • Must complete IHS-required trainings (e.g., HIPAA, child protection, opioid safety)
