Job description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide urgent care services on a locum tenens basis. This is an outpatient position with flexible hours, no call, and a strong support structure in place. The clinic treats walk-in patients and provides comprehensive urgent care services. You’ll work independently but will have access to necessary support and systems, including Cerner EMR and streamlined credentialing.
- Perform physical exams and urgent care evaluations
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries
- Order labs and imaging, interpret results
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state licensure
- Counsel and educate patients on treatment plans
- Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when appropriate
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting seeing 15–30 patients per shift
- Active Indiana license – required
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certification – not required, but preferred
- Must be comfortable working independently in an urgent care setting
- Must be able to perform evaluations, make assessments, and prescribe
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- BLS, PALS, ABLS – required
- ACLS and ATLS – not required
- Hours vary between 8–40 hours/week depending on need
- Typical shift lengths range from 8 to 12 hours

- July 7: Orientation 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM
- July 10: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Typical shift lengths range from 8 to 12 hours

July 14: 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM
July 15: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
More shifts available – August schedule pending
No overtime anticipated (shifts capped at 40 hrs/week)
Skills
