Locum NP-Surgery-Cardiovascular Opportunities in MI!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner). This is a rounding-focused inpatient role supporting both cardiac and vascular surgeons, with no operating room responsibilities. The locum position is available starting in February due to a recent APP resignation.

Dates / Schedule

• Start Date: February (ASAP)

• Work Schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts

• On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks (first call from home)

• Weekends: 1 weekend per month (solo coverage)

• Average Patient Volume: ~15 patients per day; weekends typically 15–30 patients

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient rounding and clinical support for cardiovascular surgery patients

• Support both cardiac and vascular surgery services

• Manage patient care across multiple units, including:

  • CVICU: 2–8 patients/day

  • CVSU: 2–5 patients/day, including discharges

  • Vascular service: 4–10 patients across ICU and floor (often not primary service)

• Independently manage patient list during assigned weekend coverage

• Practice setting is a Level 1 Trauma Center

• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation

• No operating room or procedural responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner (APP): Required

• BLS and ACLS Certifications: Required

• Active Michigan NP license or NLC: Preferred

• Prior inpatient cardiovascular experience required (no new grads)

• Clean malpractice and licensure history: Highly preferred

• NPDB self-query (within 30 days): Required at presentation
