Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the vascular surgery team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and medical history reviews.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging, ECGs).
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound care, drain management, and infection control.
  • Assist in major surgical procedures and perform minor procedures independently.
  • Serve as first assist in the operating room, including surgical closures and intraoperative support.
  • Perform hospital rounds, discharge planning, and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including evenings and weekends.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery.
  • Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
  • Serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and contribute to staff development.
  • Support workflow optimization and protocol development for improved efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or a related surgical specialty.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Florida ARNP or PA license.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
