Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its Cardiothoracic Surgery team. The provider will be responsible for assisting in surgical cases, patient rounds, and emergency on-call coverage. This role requires expertise in endoscopic vein harvesting and the ability to work both in the operating room and inpatient settings.
- Assist in Cardiothoracic Surgery procedures, including CABG, AVR, TAVR, aortic, and thoracic cases.
- Serve as First Assist in surgeries, scrubbing in alongside the surgical team.
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting as needed.
- Participate in rotating on-call duties for emergency cases.
- Conduct inpatient rounds and collaborate with physicians on patient care.
- Document patient progress using Cerner and Epic EMR systems.
- Board Certified PA or NP.
- Active Pennsylvania state license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPR (must be through AHA or Red Cross).
- DEA License required.
- Experience in endoscopic vein harvesting is mandatory.
Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania state license.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPR (must be through AHA or Red Cross).
DEA License required.
Experience in endoscopic vein harvesting is mandatory.
Working Hours
Weekend call: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) with rounding from approximately 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Estimated Shifts per Month: 14.
Providers will rotate between scheduled surgical cases and hospital coverage.
Skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Comfortable with emergency on-call responsibilities.
Experience using Cerner and Epic EMR systems.
