Position Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: Massachusetts
Rate: $120/hr on 1099 with Travel, Lodging and Malpractice Coverage
Shift: 3 x 13-Hour Day Shifts | 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Start Date: 09/07/2026
End Date: 13-Week Assignment
Position Details:
Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
Setting: Inpatient Hospital Neurosurgery Service
Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily rounds with Neurosurgery residents
- Review patient care plans and enter orders
- Evaluate and manage inpatient neurosurgical patients
- Coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and follow-up
- Provide direct patient care on the Neurosurgery service
- No operating room responsibilities
Required Skills/Procedures:
- Inpatient Neurosurgery Management
- Order Entry and Care Coordination
- Discharge Management
- Preferred: Removal of Hemovac and JP Drains
EMR System: Epic
Support Structure:
- Neurosurgery Resident Program
- Multidisciplinary Inpatient Neurosurgery Team
Schedule:
- 3 Shifts Per Week
- 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- No Nights
- No Holiday Coverage
On-Call/Weekends: No Call Required
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Active Massachusetts License Required
- Minimum 1 Year of Neurosurgery Experience Required
- Epic Experience Required
