Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Gwinnett County, GA

Schedule: Surgery Days: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM/Clinic Days: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Overview:

A specialty surgical practice is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support both clinic and operating room functions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, experience in surgical or trauma settings, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves a balanced mix of clinic visits and first-assist responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams.

• Manage pre- and post-operative care and follow-up appointments.

• Assist in surgery (average of 3 cases per day).

• Conduct clinic visits (approximately 20 patients per day).

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop care plans.

• Document all patient encounters in the EMR accurately and timely.

• Educate patients on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.

• Collaborate with surgeons and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience required (no new graduates).

• Surgical, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, or trauma experience strongly preferred.

• NPs must have Trauma Certification or First Assist training.

• Strong assessment, procedural, and patient-management skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
