Job Details
- Position: Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Surgery / Neurovascular
- Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based neurovascular unit
- Location: Richmond, VA 23226 — convenient access to downtown Richmond, dining, culture, and city amenities
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week until permanent coverage is secured
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Times: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Night Coverage: Availability for night shifts required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,260–$3,870
- Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 120 days
- EMR: EPIC
Job Requirements
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP required)
- Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license preferred
- ACLS and BLS required
- Neurocritical care nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience in an inpatient or acute care setting
- Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Strong communication skills and comfort responding to urgent clinical needs
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
Responsibilities
- Respond to code stroke events and support urgent neurovascular care needs
- Provide post-procedure inpatient care for neurointerventional surgery patients
- Monitor and manage adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity hospital setting
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the clinical care team to ensure quality outcomes
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and timely patient care during day and night coverage
- Support inpatient workflow and varying patient volumes throughout the week
