Position: Nurse Practitioner – Surgery

📍 Location: Potsdam, New York
📅 Start Date: June 2026 (Summer Coverage)
📆 Contract Length: 4 weeks (with strong extension potential)
👥 Openings: 3 Positions Available

Schedule & Flexibility

• 🌞 Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (4 x 10s)
• 📅 Full-time need starting September (Tues–Fri)
• 🔄 Flexible August scheduling options (8s, 10s, or 12s)

Optional Call Opportunities:

• 📞 Weekend Call: Fri 5 PM – Mon 7 AM
• 🌙 Weeknight Call: ~4 shifts/month (5 PM – 7 AM)
• 🩺 Weekend Rounding: 8 AM – 12 PM

Practice Setting

• Acute Care Hospital (109 beds)
• 👩‍⚕️ Collaborative surgical team environment
• 💻 EMR System: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• 🔪 Surgical First Assist in the OR
• 📋 Floor coverage: rounding, notes, consults, discharges
• 🤝 Work with General Surgery, OB/GYN & Orthopedics

Hands-On Skills Include:

• Suturing & wound closure
• Hemostasis & tissue management
• Assisting in surgical procedures
• Patient positioning & intraoperative support

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (or PA considered)
• Active New York License
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS
• Minimum 2 years recent experience
