Locums – Springfield, Ohio | NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity

Clinical Role

Great opportunity for an experienced NP or PA to join a cardiothoracic and vascular surgery team providing a mix of ICU coverage, rounding, and surgical support. This role is ideal for providers with CT surgery or strong critical care experience seeking block scheduling and consistent coverage.

Coverage Needs: April – July

Current Open Dates:

• April 6 (7:00 AM) – April 13 (7:00 AM)

• April 20 (7:00 AM) – June 1 (7:00 AM)

Position Highlights:

• Block-style scheduling (10–11 days per month)

• Blend of ICU/CVICU and OR call responsibilities

• Opportunity to assist in surgery (not required)

• Collaborative environment with cardiothoracic surgeons

Schedule & Coverage

• Typical schedule: Friday afternoon through the following week and weekend

• End of shift: Sunday evening or Monday morning

• Includes both OR call and ICU/CVICU coverage

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Patient population: Adult & geriatric

• Patient volume: ~5–20 patients per day

Responsibilities Include:

• Rounding and care coordination

• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests

• Writing prescriptions

• Vein harvesting

• Assisting in surgery (optional based on skill set)

• ICU/CVICU patient management

Support & Technology:

• Reports directly to Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeons

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• NP or PA (Board Certified – ANCC or AANP required)

• Active Ohio license preferred (will consider candidates willing to obtain quickly)

• ACLS certification required

• COVID vaccination required

• Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred

• Critical care experience may be considered

• No new graduates
