๐ Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a background in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a high-paying locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on weekend 24-hour call coverage, supporting urgent cardiac surgical cases in a fast-paced hospital environment.
๐ฐ Competitive Pay: ~$1,326/day + additional call-back incentives
๐ Key Responsibilities
- Provide cardiothoracic surgical support during on-call shifts โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
- Assist in urgent and emergent cardiac cases (cath lab โ OR) ๐ช
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including ICU patients ๐ฅ
- Support patient progression from ICU to discharge
- Perform vein harvesting and assist in surgical procedures
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and care teams ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ฉโโ๏ธ
- Document all care using EPIC EMR ๐ป
๐๏ธ Schedule Highlights
- Start Date: May 10, 2026 ๐
- Ongoing assignment
- 3 weekends per month ๐๏ธ
- Shift: Friday 5 PM โ Monday 7 AM
- 24-hour call coverage throughout the weekend โฐ
- Average ~4 hours/day callback work
๐ Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Board Certified/Eligible (relevant surgical specialty preferred)
- Active Pennsylvania license (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- DEA certification required

- Strong background in cardiothoracic or cardiac surgery
- Experience with ICU-level care and post-op management
- Proficiency in vein harvesting and surgical assistance
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
