A dynamic opportunity exists for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Surgical care at a comprehensive hospital setting. In this role, you will be integral to the surgical team, providing care to hospitalized patients and collaborating closely with various healthcare teams, including General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedics. This is a flexible locum tenens assignment with potential scheduling including weekdays and weekend on-call responsibilities.

- Start Date: Immediate openings in August with potential coverage through the end of the year
- Schedule: Predominantly 3x12-hour shifts with flexibility for 5x8s or 4x10s; opportunity for 1 to 2 weekends of call, plus 4 weeknight calls per month
- Patient Population: Primarily adult acutely ill patients
- Location: Potsdam, NY
- Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities
- Assist with surgical procedures, including wound care, suturing, and hemostasis
- Manage patient orders, discharges, and consults
- Assist with rounding and progress notes on the Medical Surgical Floor
Qualifications
- New York State License
- BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent surgical experience
- Epic experience required
- Must be Board Certified
Working Hours
- Daytime shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Weekday call shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Weekend call from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient with electronic charting systems (EPIC)
