Locum NP/PA Trauma Surgery Opportunity - Atlantic City, New Jersey

Position:

• NP/PA -Trauma Surgery
• Specialty: Trauma Surgery
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: October 2026
• Credentialing Time: ~30 days

Job Details:

• Practice Setting: Hospital-based
• Documentation System/EMR: Cerner
• Trauma Level/Designation: Level II
• 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
• Coverage includes trauma alerts, inpatient care, OR, and rounding
• No formal call required, though call ratio may vary

Required Procedures/Responsibilities:

• Trauma alerts and surgical consultations
• Admitting, rounding, and OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
• Facilitating discharges, ER admissions, and house codes/rapid response team
• Insertion of: Ventilation management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line
• Minor laceration suturing
• Non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)

Supervision:

• Supervising physician present in-house 24/7
• APP will not work autonomously
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: temps have been approved- 30 days average

Travel Reimbursement:

• Mileage only (provider must be local)

Submission Requirements:

• Updated CV
• NP or PA with RNFA (if NP)
• Active New Jersey State License
• BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN Certifications
• Experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
• Proficiency in Trauma Alerts, OR Support, Inpatient Rounding, and ER Admissions
• Experience with Ventilation Management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line, Non-Invasive Vent Management (BiPAP/CPAP), and Minor Laceration Suturing
• Experience Responding to ED for Trauma Alerts and Surgical Consultations
• Supervising Physician Present 24/7; APP Will Not Work Autonomously
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Self-Query NPDB (should be pulled within 30 days)
