Position:
- NP/PA -Trauma Surgery
- Specialty: Trauma Surgery
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: October 2026
- Credentialing Time: ~30 days
Job Details:
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based
- Documentation System/EMR: Cerner
- Trauma Level/Designation: Level II
- 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
- Coverage includes trauma alerts, inpatient care, OR, and rounding
- No formal call required, though call ratio may vary
Required Procedures/Responsibilities:
- Trauma alerts and surgical consultations
- Admitting, rounding, and OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
- Facilitating discharges, ER admissions, and house codes/rapid response team
- Insertion of: Ventilation management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line
- Minor laceration suturing
- Non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
Supervision:
- Supervising physician present in-house 24/7
- APP will not work autonomously
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: temps have been approved- 30 days average
Travel Reimbursement:
- Mileage only (provider must be local)
Submission Requirements:
- Updated CV
- NP or PA with RNFA (if NP)
- Active New Jersey State License
- BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN Certifications
- Experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
- Proficiency in Trauma Alerts, OR Support, Inpatient Rounding, and ER Admissions
- Experience with Ventilation Management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line, Non-Invasive Vent Management (BiPAP/CPAP), and Minor Laceration Suturing
- Experience Responding to ED for Trauma Alerts and Surgical Consultations
- Supervising Physician Present 24/7; APP Will Not Work Autonomously
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Self-Query NPDB (should be pulled within 30 days)
