We’re actively seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum General Surgery opportunity in New York. This is a high-demand role with flexible scheduling options and strong potential for ongoing coverage through the end of the year.

📅 Assignment Details
- Start Date: August 6, 2026
- Initial Coverage:
- 8/6 – 8/8 → 3x12-hour shifts
- 8/21 – 8/28 → Flexible (choose from 5x8s, 4x10s, or 3x12s)
- Ongoing Need: Likely full-time coverage through year-end
Schedule Flexibility (Major Selling Point)
- Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Optional Call Opportunities:
- Weeknight call: ~4 shifts/month (5p–7a)
- Weekend call: Fri 5p – Mon 7a
- Weekend rounding: 8a–12p
- Choose a schedule that fits your lifestyle
Job Responsibilities
Split between OR First Assist + Surgical Floor Coverage:
OR Duties:
First assist in surgery
Suturing, clamping, wound care
Hemostasis, suction, irrigation
Patient positioning & intraoperative support
Floor Duties
Rounding & progress notes
Orders, consults, discharges
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Patient Mix:
General Surgery
OB/GYN
Orthopedics
Qualifications
Active New York License (Required – no licensing available)
Minimum 2 years recent surgical experience
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, ATLS (AHA)
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
