We are seeking a motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a high-performing General Surgery team. This is a full-time, hospital-employed opportunity offering a dynamic mix of clinic, inpatient, and surgical responsibilities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Position Overview
As an Advanced Practice Provider in General Surgery, you will play a vital role in perioperative and inpatient care while working closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams. This position is ideal for an APP who thrives in a procedural setting and values teamwork, autonomy, and clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations in outpatient surgical clinic
Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments
Assist in the operating room as needed
Manage surgical consultations and coordinate care plans
Participate in discharge planning and patient education
Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Engage in multidisciplinary case planning and quality initiatives
Participate in surgical call rotation and cross-coverage

Participation in call rotation as part of the surgical team

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Board Certified NP or PA
Eligible for Alabama licensure
BLS and ACLS required
Surgical or acute care experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
